Job Purpose

The Process Engineer role plays a pivotal role in designing, optimizing, and overseeing manufacturing processes to ensure they operate safely, efficiently and in compliance with local regulations and Akzonobel Standards.

Key Accountabilities

• Perform Root Cause Analysis on chronic product problems and implement corrective/preventive actions.
• Monitors the process performance through metrics such as RFT, MME, OEE, cost productivity, customer complaints, Waste Indices and take action as required.
• Provide quality and manufacturing support as required to meet specific program needs.
• Provides expertise for onsite operations group during process related troubleshooting issues- hands on with production operators/quality techs.
• For capital projects, executes process studies, contributes to pre-projects, and performs initial project scoping and business case development.
• Introduce and integrate new processes and relevant design work accordingly, strategy of control, installations, products and/or equipment in production, at times based on results of development projects.
• During project execution, plays a major role in commissioning, start-up, and training, and then owning the technology for the site.
• Help write work instructions; forms and register these documents.
• Develop forms for data collection. Daily review critical data for continuous improvement purpose.
• Identify, develop, and deliver innovative solutions by constantly driving process capability improvement while maintaining and improving quality standards.
• Support the Production department in providing technical input for production incident investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Train site team on manufacturing processes, tools, and techniques

Experience

• Bachelor's degree in relevant field or equivalent work experience.
• Proven experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of production processes, quality control, and safety protocols.
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and implement process improvements.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
